Teaching is an essential part of being a musician — the joy of passing on knowledge and experience, but also a constant source of self-questioning. In 2003, I had the opportunity to open a class in violone and historical double bass at the Académie de Musique de Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in Brussels. From September 2026, I have the great honour of succeeding Maggie Urquhart at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
